The Minns Labor Government is excited to announce the opening of applications for $10 million in grants from its Crown Reserves Improvement Fund, dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our invaluable public reserves and building stronger communities across New South Wales.
Trish Doyle, Member for the Blue Mountains, is calling on local Crown land reserve managers to seize this opportunity for funding.
“The Crown Reserves Improvement Fund is an essential resource that supports the maintenance and upgrade of our community facilities on Crown land,” Ms. Doyle said. “This year, the NSW Government’s investment of $10 million will directly benefit community, recreational, and tourism facilities on our Crown reserves.”
“Grants are available not only for maintaining and upgrading our beautiful reserves but also for managing feral pests and noxious weeds, ensuring these areas remain accessible and well-preserved for future generations.”
Local councils, community groups that utilise Crown land, and showgrounds are all eligible to apply. “I strongly encourage local organisations in the Blue Mountains to apply for this funding and help us enhance the spaces that bring our communities together,” Ms. Doyle added.
Crown reserves are public lands designated by the government for community use, providing essential spaces for recreation and the protection of sensitive environments. They host parks, sports fields, walking tracks, campgrounds, and facilities for community organisations like public halls, showgrounds, and scout halls.
Minister for Lands and Property, Steve Kamper, emphasised the government’s commitment to improving local communities. “The Minns Labor Government is dedicated to building better communities, and the Crown Reserves Improvement Fund is pivotal in maintaining and upgrading public reserves for the benefit of all New South Wales residents,” Mr. Kamper stated.
“We are immensely grateful for the hard work of the volunteers, community groups, and local councils who manage these precious reserves, and we are eager to support them through this year’s CRIF grants.”
