I note the Global Nature Positive Summit 2024, which was held from 8 to 10 October on Gadigal country in Sydney. It aimed to accelerate collective action to enhance investment in nature and strengthen efforts to protect and restore our environment. I commend both the New South Wales and Commonwealth governments for facilitating this important event that united leaders from government, corporate sectors, research and environmental organisations, and Indigenous peoples. I applaud those who were involved in the planning and execution of the summit. I pay particular tribute to the Federal Minister for the Environment and Water, my good colleague and friend Tanya Plibersek, MP, member for Sydney, who welcomed international delegates to Sydney in style. She is an absolute shining light in the environment space.
