I am pleased to recognise Mr Angus Olsen, a valued member of the Blue Mountains community, on his selection as an Australia Day Ambassador and for his role in presenting the Australia Day Awards for the Upper Hunter region of New South Wales. This honour reflects the deep respect Angus has earned through his service to community, state and country. While he proudly calls the Blue Mountains home, the impact of his work extends well beyond the electorate and across New South Wales. Angus is also widely admired for his quiet yet deeply meaningful support of children with cancer and their families. His compassion, strength and positive spirit make a real and lasting difference. I congratulate Angus on this well‑deserved recognition and thank him for all that he does.
