I recognise members of the Blue Mountains community who recently offered their time to save a man's life.
During a sporting event at the Katoomba Aquatic Centre a senior player collapsed from a heart attack.
Three amazing people assisted in keeping the man alive by performing CPR and sourcing and applying the defibrillator. Without the quick thinking of Michael Garwood, Charles Keene and Melanie Farry the outcome may have been much worse.
I am grateful that our community has such unselfish and caring individuals who tirelessly offer their time and energy to help others.
I also acknowledge the great contribution of Sue Kondek, who runs the futsal competition at Katoomba.
She wanted her remarkable sports colleagues honoured for saving a life.
I thank them all.
